Greenwalls is a product of McCaren Designs and is a another player in the the vertical gardening arena. Like Green Over Grey, McCaren serves as a design partner in planning your green wall project. However, it is also similar to Plants On Walls in that it offers a product, in this case a green wall system complete with a skeletal structure, drip irrigation and a waterproof membrane. The imagery that is available on the website is as impressive as the others, but there isn’t a formal portfolio or gallery of projects to prove that they have had real-world successes.
The Greenwall identity is a fumble. I’m not opposed to the idea of keeping, albeit revamping, the main wordmark. But the logo, a yellow grid with an equally soft, green leaf, provides no contrast for the eye, making it difficult to comprehend. Beyond that, the grid gives the company a very clinical, benign feel in a situation that screams for something artisanal and full of life.
