Neil Didn't Pack A Blanky

In the seventh month, Anno Domini 1969, an Ohio farm boy named Neil Armstrong looked into the sky and saw something remarkable. His home.

"It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth," he recalled of his view from the surface of the moon. "I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small."

So it was that Armstrong and his crew mates gave us some perspective — with a vista you can only earn with discipline, brains, guts and teamwork.
